How much do you keep with an in-app purchase revenue calculator?

Apple and Google both take a commission on every in-app purchase and subscription sold through their stores. The standard rate is 30%, meaning you keep 70 cents of every dollar. This in-app purchase revenue calculator turns your gross revenue and that commission rate into three numbers that matter: net revenue (what actually lands in your account), the platform fee you hand to the store, and your effective keep as a percentage.

The big exception is the Small Business Program. If your developer account earned under $1M in the prior calendar year, both Apple and Google drop their commission to 15% β€” so you keep 85% instead of 70%. Subscriptions that run past a full year on Apple also fall to 15%. Switch the commission rate between 30% and 15% to see how much that program is worth to you, then use Reverze to rebuild the screenshots that turn store traffic into those paying installs.

Frequently asked questions

How does an in-app purchase revenue calculator work?
It multiplies your gross revenue by the store's commission rate to find the platform fee, then subtracts it. For example, $10,000 gross at a 30% cut is a $3,000 fee, leaving $7,000 net. Switch the rate to 15% and net jumps to $8,500.
Is Apple's cut 15% or 30%?
Both. The default App Store commission is 30%, but it drops to 15% under the App Store Small Business Program (for developers under $1M/yr) and for subscriptions after a subscriber's first paid year. Set the rate that applies to you.
What is the Small Business Program?
Apple and Google each run a program that cuts commission from 30% to 15% for developers who earned under $1 million in the previous year across all their apps. You must enroll β€” it is not automatic β€” and you drop back to 30% if you cross the $1M threshold.
Does this calculator work for Google Play too?
Yes. Google Play uses the same 30% standard and 15% Small Business rate structure (Google's reduced tier also applies to the first $1M of earnings each year). Enter your gross Play revenue and the rate that applies to see your net.
